Introduction
The Connecticut Broadcasters Association (CBA)
The Connecticut Broadcasters Association represents Connecticut’s commercial, public, religious, college, and high school radio and TV stations. Members include more than 115 stations, as well as associates and individuals.
Member radio and TV stations participate in public service campaigns supporting the work of the Connecticut National Guard, U.S. Coast Guard, and Connecticut Department of Public Safety’s Office of Statewide Emergency Telecommunications.
Our sub-committees manage Connecticut’s Emergency Alert System (EAS) and AMBER Alert program, and bring together executives and engineers from law enforcement, telecommunications and the cable industry to evaluate, improve, and manage important aspects of public safety.
The Connecticut Broadcasters Association facilitates the work of charitable and public service organizations by connecting them with radio and TV stations. We sponsor annual scholarship campaigns for high school and college students pursuing careers in broadcasting. Member stations donate more than $500,000 in broadcast time to promote the scholarships, which total $50,000 annually.
Our association presents special interest and management seminars for members and their staffs on subjects such as ad sales, creative production, audience measurement, changing broadcast technologies, broadcast engineering, internet education, and legislative/regulatory matters.
Through our website and job fairs, we publicize job opportunities and other information for those interested in broadcast employment and internships at Connecticut stations.
