EXECUTIVE NEWS PRODUCER – WGGB

Western Mass News is looking for an Executive Producer, to help oversee our group of newscast Producers. We take pride in Getting Answers for our viewers and look to incorporate that throughout our on-air newscasts and digital platforms.

Duties/Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Oversee the stacking of newscasts, weekly shows, and special coverage
  • Proofread scripts and graphics for accuracy
  • Respond as appropriate to Breaking News (re-routing crews, changing content)
  • Set schedule for Producers, assuring shifts are covered
  • May produce newscasts when needed

Qualifications/Requirements:

  • Education – Bachelor’s degree in Broadcast Journalism, Communications, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience
  • Experience – 3+ years experience as a Producer or Executive Producer, also experience using digital video editing programs, internet production tools, and newscast producing software a plus
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule and work as a member of a team.
  • Must possess an advanced understanding of newscast presentation.
  • Must possess excellent writing and graphics skills with the ability to provide an interesting and substantive product.
  • Must be results-oriented.
  • Must possess strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a creative, fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to make quick decisions without losing composure.
  • Must be able to manage multiple projects and assignments simultaneously.
  • Previous experience with script writing and editorial experience preferred.
